BTS becomes the first Korean artist to obtain a gold record in France

BTS offers a gold record in France!

If before, an album needed to exceed 100,000 copies sold in France to be a gold record, things have changed in recent years. In 2006 and again in 2009, SNEP decided to reduce the number of sales to 50,000 copies for a gold record.

In addition, for the past two years, streaming listenings have been converted into sales equivalent and added to physical sales and sales in downloads. Today, it therefore takes 50,000 sales equivalent to obtain a gold record on French soil.

This December 16, it was then announced by SNEP that "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" by BTS had reached these 50,000 sales equivalent, becoming the first Korean artist to offer a gold record in France.

Congratulations to BTS!
